Tips for Sales Shopping

Boxing Day sales are only days away and here are some of my tips to make the day fun.

Wear comfy shoes that are easy to slip on and off.  I would avoid laces or buckles and any sandals with a thin sole.  You could be on your feet for a long time.

My tip for your shopping outfit is to pick a t-shirt or top and a skirt or shorts in neutral colours, this gives you something that doesn’t clash with the new pieces you are trying on.

Most important is wear nude coloured underwear.

Take a small snack in your handbag. I like to take a muesli bar and a small bottle of water. Also mints don’t go astray.

If you have a handbag that goes across your body and leaves your hands free, this is the one to take with you.  Like this Roche small hobo from Oroton.

Don’t buy something just because it is on sale.  It is not a bargain if you will never wear it.

Buy the heavy items at the end of the day, or take them to your car.  Some shops will let you leave your items and pick them up at the end of the day. If you can ditch the packaging to make it lighter it will save tired arms (ie shoe boxes).

I prefer to try shoes on at the beginning of the day, but if you see the perfect pair later in the day take into account that you feet will be tired, swollen and possibly sore (pick your size carefully).

If you have time to visit the shops before the sales, do your homework.  Try on what you would like to buy so you don’t have to wait for a dressing room.  Shops often prepare for the sales by moving the stock around so it is easy to see what will be on sale, otherwise just ask the shop assistant if they can point you in the right direction.

Last of all, take a note from the Granny’s and invest in one of these!

What are you wearing for Christmas Day?

I love Christmas time and now the tree is up and decorated, most of the gifts are bought; its time for me to think about what to wear on Christmas Day.

This year it is a bbq for us so something casual will be fine.  My suggestions for a casual lunch would be the maxi dress,  it hides the post lunch tummy and keeps you cool on a warm day. How about this one from Country Road.

If you need something a bit dressier, you can't go past Karen Millen (see below) for great dresses in fabulous colours.  But if you budget is tight Target have a great dress range too.

For those of you who have a game of backyard cricket after lunch a pair of stylish shorts from Witchery and a tshirt is a must.

Have a great Christmas Day.
