Derby Day

Derby Day is all about Monochrome.

My picks for the day are this Thurley Dress

Or this Veronica Maine dress.

With some classic pumps like these from Jimmy Choo

The finishing touches this Mimco Clutch and Lovisa fasinator

Oaks Day

Oaks Day is Ladies Day.  This is the day to be girly and show your femininity.

My picks are this Ted Baker Dress

Or for the more budget conscious this Forever New floral dress.

This Forever New clutch is a nice simple addition to either dress

And if floral dresses are too girly for you team a simple coloured dress with these Peeptoe shoes with a floral accent.

Need some curves

This dress is great for creating curves if you don't have them. The white panels also will make you look slimmer. www.anntaylor.com

Spring is nearly here!

If you look outside today you could be forgiven for thinking Spring was already here. Today I decided to pretend it was by wearing one of the colours of the season Mint.

Jumper from Gap www.gap.com
Blouse from Witchery www.witchery.com.au
Jeans from Sass & Bide www.sassandbide.com

A little bit of colour

Do you need some inspiration to add a bit of colour to your wardrobe?

My suggestion if you wear alot of neutrals - think black, navy, tan, grey and white - add some colour with accessories.

Really scared of colour - perhaps these Banana Republic ballet flats with just the toe cap in colour will suit you. www.bananarepublic.com

Or perhaps paint your nails with an OPI nail colour.  You can even see the colour on nails on their website. www.opi.com

A little more committed to using colour but still removable - how about this Mimco handbag. www.mimco.com.au

The last two are the easiest way to add colour; a necklace (this one is from Lovisa) or a scarf (from Kate Spade available from Bloomingdales). www.lovisa.com.au   www.bloomingdales.com

Feeling a bit blue?

Feeling a bit cold and blue this Winter? Brighten your day up with something blue that is not cold.  Try wearing different tones of blue together instead of mixing it with black for a change.

A dress for Summer or Winter

One of my favourite summer dresses is a Gap chambray shirt dress; it is easy to wear and looks good with flats or wedges.  This is how I wear it in Summer, and if it is hotter I role up the sleeves.

As the warm weather was drawing to a close I didn't want to say goodbye to this dress so decided I needed to work out how to wear it for Winter. So I added some ponte leggings, a fur vest and some boots and my Summer dress is now a Winter dress.

I have since wore it with opaque tights and high heeled booties too.
