My week of wearing no black clothes.

10 days ago I went out for a Mothers Day Dinner with 60 odd other Mum's from my daughters school.  The first thing I noticed as I walked in the door was how many were wearing black.  The odd few had a bit of colour but it was inevitably teamed with black.

This made me ponder "could I wear no black clothes" for a week?  I posted the question on my facebook page www.facebook.com/stylishleigh and three people thought they could; but most thought it would be hard to do.

So for a week I wore no black clothes.

Day one:  Blue shirt dress (like the Gap dress below), with tan boots, a red necklace and handbag. I actually got stopped at Chadstone by a lady who complemented my outfit.

Day two:  It was Mothers Day and after breakfast in bed I wore charcoal trousers (from Country Road) and a aqua blue top. Charcoal is a great alternative to black, not so harsh and goes with as many colours.

Day Three: Working in the office this day so wore navy trousers, a navy and cream print shirt and cream jumper with sequin stripes.

Day Four: I wore my favourite Hudson Signature jeans, orange jumper, cream and lots of different colour Kate Spade scarf (not the one below but Kate Spade has great coloured scarves and I had to show one).

Day Five: I thought that although I was not wearing black, my outfits were still a bit dull so picked a bright necklace from Lovisa. My outfit was charcoal trousers, grey jacket, white blouse, nude shoes and turquoise necklace

Day Six:  My day off, I wore a cream and glitter gold stripe jumper, jeans and tan boots. I had to add my cream coat and fur scarf when I went on the school run as it was freezing! Again I got complements!

Final Day! For my last day I wore a Jigsaw red skirt and necklace, a cream blouse with grey and taupe pattern and a grey belted cardigan and two tone taupe mary-jane heals.
