The fun/annoying thing about Melbourne weather is you never know what you are going to get. The fun part is you get to wear all your clothes through all the seasons, the annoying part is some days start off as Summer and end as Winter (so hopefully you have something warm with you).
My favourite transitional piece is the jacket, of which I have three waiting to be worn. One is a khaki military style jacket. You will see heaps of military this Autumn/Winter.
The second is a tan/neutral blazer. A big combo you will see in the shops is the tan and black combo, I like it with a splash of red for some character (but those who know me will be nodding their heads that I would pick this colour).
My third jacket is a cropped leather or leather look jacket. Mine is a pale creamy colour but there are heaps of aviator styles about too.
Some other big trends in outerwear to keep you warm this winter are the cape and the camel coat.
